Read More About Alcoholism pg. 30
This is Step One – There can be no compromise to this step!
“If we are planning to overcome drinking there can be no reservations of any kind, nor any lurking notion that someday we will be immune to alcohol.”
Take a few minutes to contemplate all we have read and studied so far…
Ask: “Are you now ready to completely SURRENDER to the new reality?”
Accept, and fully concede to your innermost self.
Declare to yourself and to others that you are powerless over alcohol – you are an alcoholic!”
You need to be 100% certain on Step One.
If you’re willing to fully concede, without reservation, that you are an alcoholic, then you can continue with the Steps …
If you are not willing to admit this step as true in your life; you are powerless over alcohol – that your life has become unmanageable, there is really no point in continuing on with the rest of the steps at this time!
